Q) How would you describe your sound?
A) I would describe my sound as pop music that’s meaningful and has a message but you can still dance and have fun with it! My music is a diary that you can dance to!
Q) Who are some of your musical influences?
A) I love Madonna, Britney Spears and Taylor Swift.
Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Already There.”
A) The story is about really liking somebody and being ready to take that next step to be in an exclusive relationship! It’s perfect for this time of year.
Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?
A) I think a lot of people can relate to having a crush and thinking, “Can we just be together already?” It’s a tricky thing because you want the other person to like you back and don’t want to feel embarrassed but the song is about being bold and confident and going for it!
Q) How does the video for the track play into the message behind it?
A) For “Already There” I’m doing a video series, which has been so much fun! It makes the song come to life from Valentine’s day videos, Mermaid videos and Tik Tok videos. A lot more videos are coming!
Q) What is your song writing process?
A) Whenever something happens to me, I write about it! Especially in relationships and not just romantic relationships.
Q) Do you need music before you can create lyrics?
A) I personally don’t, I usually write lyrics first because lyrics are very important to me.
Q) How much of hand do you have in the production of your music?
A) It depends on the song and who I’m working with. Sometimes I let the producers take over and other times I like to be more involved by comping vocals, etc.
Q) Will there be a full album or EP coming in the near future?
A) Definitely!
Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?
A) I love performing in Los Angeles because the city is full of energy and music history!
Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?
A) I’d love to collaborate with someone like Lizzo.
Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?
A) I’m doing a deep dive in Madonna’s discography right now and I’m loving it.
Q) You have your own fashion brand, book and magazine. Is there anything else you’d like to try your hand at?
A) I’d love to do a non-profit!
Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?
A) It’s the best way because especially on Instagram there so many tools to connect! I can reply to comments, DMs, livestreams, etc. I love it!!
